A Long Time Coming (Perfect Timing, #2)

Heather Van Fleet

New Adult, Romance

Abigail Orson has a problem. A love problem to be precise; and she has absolutely no idea how to go about fixing it.

For years now, she has been chasing her best friend’s brother—demanding things from him that he’s never wanted to give. For one? A real relationship that surpasses well beyond that dreaded ‘just friends’ zone. You see, David Anderson is her idea of perfection to a T. The one and only guy who has ever had the ability to make her heart beat faster; make her toes curl with the simple blink of his long, girly lashes. But David is also a recovering amputee, and the only thing he really wants from Abigail is to be left alone. Abigail is a fighter though, and losing the one guy who has ruined her for every other is no longer an option.

A guy with one leg who has lost his motivation to live—to love—to actually be a man. David believes he’s a waste of space. If only the beautiful girl of his unattainable dreams would get that through her perfect, blonde, stubborn head! He’s not the right guy for Abigail. He’ll never be worthy of what she deserves. However, staying away is almost impossible, especially when he’s just as in love with her as she is with him. But Abigail has a life ahead of her, one that’s definitely livable without a nineteen–year–old gimp like him holding her down. What makes her want to stick around is beyond questionable to David’s mind.

Choices will be made. Lines will be drawn. And together, they will face challenges that nobody saw coming. David and Abigail may have had almost fourteen years to fall in love, but the thing is, timing and love have never exactly worked in their favor.

It has been years in the making, and definitely A Long Time Coming for David and Abigail. Let’s hope they don’t screw it up before they actually have the chance to get it right.

Before we start, you need to listen to this song: All of You by John Legend. This song is PERFECT! Okay, now on to my review.

A Long Time Coming is a great read! A push-pull relationship, A Long Time Coming ensures you a nice roller coaster of emotions….have a glass of wine and box of tissues handy 😉

Abigail: Stubborn, honest, strong and completely in love with her best friends twin brother. Oh, she’s also a great gal.

David: Stubborn, hot, stubborn, strong-willed ( needed a different word), STUBBORN (incase you missed it the first time), sweet and swoon worthy.

Abigail is the girl next door, David’s twin sister’s best friend and both are head-over-heels in love with the other. One unforgettable night of passion changes their lives…forever. David lost his leg in a hurried attempt to save his twin sister…that night changed him. His life will never be the same.

Close but still too far away explains these two perfectly. I yelled at the screen, begging them to open up and express how they felt to the other. UGH! Did I say David was a stubborn ass? Well, Abigail isn’t much better (making them a perfect pair) and her secret blows David’s stubbornness out of the water. However, the amazing author raises the element of emotion even higher…David’s mom. OH. My. Goodness. I lost it. Yup, I cried like a dang baby.

Finally, bruised egos are mended and passion ensues (about damn time, right). Scorching, sensual and perfect bliss follows…enter my glass of wine…okay, it was near a bottle 😉 Just when you think the ride of emotion is over, the author pushes the envelope further and your heart aches. Then you scream, “how much more shit can these two take?” *sigh*

The end

Just kidding 😉 Lessons are learned and life changes for everyone. David’s and Abigail’s long time coming finishes perfectly.

The End (for real)

5 Freaking Alien Star Review:

Warrior is the second book in the Magio-Earth series, and I found this story as exciting, if not more so than the first book, Protector. It took me a chapter or two to reacquaint myself, but once I figured out who everyone was, I couldn’t stop reading.

Hope is the daughter of Alexo. . .and sister to Faith. The shock of this immediately glued me to the story. I really had to learn more! Unlike in Faith’s story, Hope was raised knowing her heritage, aware of the war between her people and the Peacians. So when her father has a premonition of her needing aid from a born enemy, she has her doubts.

Enter Silas Carver! Not only is he from Peacio, but one of their Protectors and a close cousin to Prince Davio. Hope’s attraction to him is undeniable, and him to her as well. Sadly, happily-ever-after won’t work for these two. Silas demands Hope to set him free from their mated-bond. Of course she agrees, however, unexpectedly with a heavy heart. I couldn’t believe she released him, and so early in the story! UGH! Frustration ran high, but I continued reading more. Surely the author wouldn’t end their relationship before it even had a chance to begin, right?

Right I was! Hope’s father had a vision. She would need Silas to seek out her mother’s ancestors, in order to find answers to the deadly mind-merge her sister and her mate share. Oh, boy!

The bond between Hope and Silas held strong from the very beginning and as soon as Silas returns to her, Hope mind-merges with him, just as her sister had done with her mate.

The journey to set Silas and Hope free from the deadly curse pushes them to find Hope and Faith’s grandmother even quicker. . .and each day spent with the other, only increases their need and desire to be together. . .

Warrior held my attention from start to finish. Each obstacle Hope and Silas encountered had me  jumping with joy, but often screaming in frustration. What made me fall in love with Warrior, is the heart thudding romance between the two main characters.

However, Warrior isn’t just a love story, it’s so much more.
